Replaced all of the exterior windows. As you can see, they're getting ready to do the siding on it. 00:00:47
Ohh, she's making good progress. The interior has been completely gutted out, ready to start work on the interior and and 00:00:52
renovations of it. 00:00:55
We're recommending to go ahead and move right 60 more days. 00:01:00
Hopefully by then. 00:01:04
That we can get her into a situation where we can withdraw this one like we have some of these others and let her. 00:01:06
Go through the permitting process on the inside. 00:01:12
She will not be here tonight. Her mother is sick and she. 00:01:16
Can't leave her so. 00:01:21
Virgil, let me thank you. You, you know, you really do your best at working with these residents and and giving them the 00:01:23
opportunity to get their homes. 00:01:27
Back into shape, so thank you so much for what you do. 00:01:32
You and Barry, both of y'all. 00:01:36
And with that, I'm angry with the. 00:01:40
You said 60 days, 60, that'll work. 00:01:43
I believe 60 days she can finish up the exterior and we can. 00:01:46
Get her off the agenda and let her just carry through with the. 00:01:49
Repairs under the permitting process also. 00:01:53
OK. 00:01:59
Is that all you have? That's all we've got today. OK. Thank you, Virgil. Thank you. 00:02:00
Mary. 00:02:03

Starting, Sir. 00:04:07
It started as here. Where here? I saw it in public last night. Lord mercy. 00:04:09
OK. Any questions for? 00:04:16
Mr. Mills. 00:04:19
Thank you. Appreciate it. 00:04:21
Zach. 00:04:24
You're up. 00:04:25
Crazy. 00:04:29
OK, good afternoon. So we have. 00:04:30
The DRD that you guys heard at Admin Policy last week. 00:04:33
So this is Hope Point Crisis Center. 00:04:37
Some exterior renovations? Or really, it's a. 00:04:40
In addition to that property off of Greensboro. 00:04:43
So, you know, we kind of discussed it pretty in depth. 00:04:47
At admin and policy, but here's that site plan just for. 00:04:52
Just to spark your memory. 00:04:57
And then a couple of. 00:04:58
Couple of examples of what they're doing. 00:05:01
So the states mental health crisis units, Yes Sir. 00:05:04
Money. Zach, could you back up slot please? OK, go ahead. Never mind. Ohh, look like you're going. 00:05:12
Well, yeah. So they're also going to be rezoning this property to clean up the zoning. It's a mix of BN. 00:05:18
And BGO. And so they're just going to go to BN. 00:05:25
And BGO is. 00:05:28
General business so you can see on the on the map here So what rezoning is and they're gonna. 00:05:30
You won't get. 00:05:36
That picture back of the actual what they're building there, OK. 00:05:38
All right, so. 00:05:43
They're gonna. 00:05:45
So they are demoing the one where your hand is at now, the one that. 00:05:51
Ohh yeah, I'm not sure who's in there now, but it's the two-story building. They're gonna demo that building, put a parking lot 00:05:56
where that one is, and then just South of that. 00:06:01
Where that right there, yes Sir, is going to be a new building which is going to connect to the existing building. 00:06:07
Existing being. 00:06:15
No, Sir. That's going to be demoed, that one. 00:06:17
Of their demo in the green room, too. Not just. Yeah, all of that. Yes, Sir. 00:06:20
OK. 00:06:25
And the purpose was, if there's are there any zoning complications? There are no zoning complications. No Sir. 00:06:26
This sounds like it should help the Police Department chief. 00:06:33
I think it will. 00:06:38
So yeah, so this, this rezoning is just introduction you're gonna be setting public hearing for that date. 00:06:41
Or for that rezoning. 00:06:46
And it will be to. 00:06:48
What? 00:06:50
So you have two things, BNB GOP president. Yes, and it's gonna all go to BN. 00:06:51
It's all going to be in then it's still gonna be DRD. 00:06:57
Neighborhood business it's going to be. 00:07:01
Similar to what you see along Greensboro. 00:07:03
Already. 00:07:05
It's an. 00:07:10
We would say it's an appropriate zoning district. 00:07:10
And you, there's a behavioral health crisis. 00:07:14
Center. 00:07:17
That will include. 00:07:19
Residential some Some short residential accommodations for people. Yes Sir. 00:07:21
Yes, Sir. 00:07:30
That's appropriate for that type of use. 00:07:31
And that's all I've got. 00:07:35
So you have any other further questions, I can answer them questions. 00:07:37
Thank you, Zach. 00:07:43
Yes, Sir. Just a reminder the right now the opportunity to. 00:07:47
A. Parking tickets. 00:07:52
With school supplies is going on now. 00:07:55
That started yesterday and Tuscaloosa residents might pay off $18.00 overtime parking tickets for donation of school supplies 00:07:58
valued at $10.00. So hey, what a deal there. School supplies valued at $20 and more will be accepted in place of $218. 00:08:06
Parking tickets and all the supplies that we've received will be donated to Tuscaloosa City Schools. 00:08:14
You can bring those school supplies to Tuscaloosa Municipal Court. 00:08:20
And certainly if you have any questions, you can call 311. So we hope everyone who has any overtime overdue parking tickets. 00:08:24
This is a good way to. 00:08:32
Make good on it and help some children. 00:08:34
In our community through need it. I was at Eastwood Mayor this morning. 00:08:37
And a couple of students came in and they were getting their backpacks. 00:08:41
And. 00:08:45
They were thrilled to death. 00:08:46
Mama was too. 00:08:48
It's expensive and these are stuffed with supplies too. 00:08:52
So hope anyone in the community. Of course you don't need an overdue parking ticket. 00:08:58
Yeah, come on downtown and stay all day and. 00:09:06
That's right, take care you take it. And a donation to save Tuscaloosa is tax deductible, so. 00:09:09
We hope everyone will do that this slide back as we have. 00:09:15
Town hall meeting coming up this Thursday. It's going to be at CTA. 00:09:20
It's intended more for the geographical area of districts one and two, but certainly everyone across the community is welcome. 00:09:24
This will be more traditional and setting so. 00:09:29
We'll start at six. I I plan on saying a few introductory statements, certainly our two council members from the district and each 00:09:34
council member. 00:09:38
It was there. 00:09:41
And then just answering questions that our constituents may have. 00:09:42
Looking into the same format for Skyland the following Thursday. 00:09:47
And then we'll be in Cachette on Thursday, September 7th. And I apologize. 00:09:51
Error. I'm already in trouble with Erica, or having to reschedule that one. It's it's on me. But I told her I had to choose 00:09:56
between her and divorce. 00:10:00
So. 00:10:05
Make up made the right choice. Yeah, I know, I made the most cost effective choice. At least so. 00:10:08
And so once I explain that to her Friday night, she was much more understanding of all of the choices that I had. But certainly, 00:10:17
Mr. Tyner, we will, We look forward to that. It was great last year. 00:10:23
Being out there. 00:10:28
And I I debated whether to say anything, but I know the elephant in the room is what occurred on Sunday. 00:10:30
Frankly, it's been the last 48 hours I've been overwhelmed with so many contexts and. 00:10:38
Notes. 00:10:43
Messages and cards, even our house. 00:10:45
You know, I've never. 00:10:49
I've never been in in any type of vehicle accident like that in my life and certainly never thought I'd be someone who would. 00:10:51
Ever have to be transported. I've never, you know, have been that vulnerable. 00:10:58
I guess you might say. And so you learn, you know, you do some, you know, introspection with that. 00:11:03
You know, when the accident happened? I I guess it knocked me out. And when I came to, a lady was on the passenger side holding my 00:11:10
hand. 00:11:13
Even as I was bleeding and she was just so kind, you know? And she's like, you're gonna be OK. And I'm like my dad. 00:11:18
Maybe. OK, I did make it. 00:11:28
I just got. I just got in. 00:11:32
And then another young lady ran up and said. 00:11:35
She was an athletic trainer. I don't know who she was and said are you OK? And start asking me questions. 00:11:39
And it just seemed like just a couple of it felt like just a couple of seconds later there's Fire and Rescue and there's PD and. 00:11:45
You know, all the way to get to DCH and everyone was so kind and really there was I was just, you know, there wasn't much wrong 00:11:51
with me, just a little minor stuff and. 00:11:56
You know, it made me very proud of this community from the compassion of people who didn't. 00:12:01
Know me to the professionalism of our to see our first responders work. 00:12:06
Yeah, it it just, it made me so proud of who we are and what we do every day in the city. And then to DCH's credit. 00:12:12
I couldn't have asked. 00:12:19
You know for for better help and assistance and so. 00:12:21
Anyway, it was a valuable experience for me beyond just being a little sore. 00:12:25
Always will you know always well and so but I do want to thank everyone involved because for my family and and everyone and it 00:12:29
meant a lot and. 00:12:34
It reminds me that we have families go through this multiple times a day in our city. 00:12:38
Yeah. 00:12:42
And. 00:12:43
What we do is important every single day and I'm glad to be be part of that. So to everyone thank you for your kind words and. 00:12:44
You know, I'm fine and ready to get back at it and look forward to the state of the community, community. 00:12:51
Tomorrow. 00:12:56
You take care of yourself. Ohh. 00:12:59
I'm fine. It just it. I'm just sore. 00:13:01
It felt like one time when we were playing Troy, I got knocked out. It kind of felt like that, so. 00:13:05
Of course, I was 30 years younger than, so easier to recover. I went back in the game, Mr. Lanier. 00:13:11
Luckily, I'm a point in life where I could take no, no concussion protocols. 00:13:17
Get you back in the game, you know, but a lot. And again, the professionalism all the way down. 00:13:23
Was. 00:13:29
And everyone always taking the precautionary route just to make certain. So I was really, really appreciative of. 00:13:30
Thank you, Mr. Chairman. Thank you. We're so happy to. 00:13:37
That you're here today and and and doing so well. 00:13:39
So. 00:13:44
Any department comments? Anybody else like to bring anything for pre council? 00:13:47
OK. 00:13:52
Mr. Holmes. 00:13:54

in Projects committee back on the 27th. 00:14:18

We have five side along my gaming bar for September 2nd and September 9th. 00:03:49
At 312 University Blvd. 00:03:54
And then the last two would be for SAE alumni game they bought for September 2nd. 00:03:56
And September 9th at 432 University Blvd. 00:04:00
So. 00:13:44

in Projects committee back on the 27th. 00:14:18

amending the agreement we had with the County School system back in 2006. 00:14:30
